HOW TO INVOKE OR SET AN INTENT

Invoking or setting intent is used for the purpose of stating out loud what you want for the day, a situation or even for a meditation. We use this technique because we want something very strongly in our lives. For instance, I might say ‘I give intent for peace and harmony to be with me throughout the day’. I say this three times, taking deep breaths through my body after each saying and being as relaxed as I can. What I am doing is letting the universe know that is my preference for the day. You can invoke your angels/guides to assist you with your intent – that you both are co-creating what it is that you desire, and that your intent be for your highest good or if there are other people concerned, then for the highest good of all.

Some examples are:
  • There is a meeting you are about to attend and you know it may get a bit messy. Set your intent:

    • for harmony to flow between everyone
    • for the desired outcome with harm to none and for the highest good of all concerned
    • for a win/win situation
    • If there is one or two people in particular who you think may be disruptive in any way then set the intent that these people be surrounded by white light and harmony (do not under any circumstance set an intent that will in any way try to control others)
    {The meeting can involve any type of meeting from board meetings, to solving a problem with neighbours or communicating with spouse, family or friends, to resolving differences in the work place}

  • You wish to get up at a certain time the next morning. Set your intent:
    • That I awaken and get out of bed at (whatever time)
    • That I awaken filled with energy and vitality to face the new day

  • You want to break a habit ie nibbling between meals. When you first waken in the morning set your intent:
    • That I am consciously aware of what I eat during the day
    • That I do not eat between meals
    • That I am aware of what is going on in my body when the desire to nibble is there.
    • To be aware of what emotion is running and why.
    • That I write down my insights so that my awareness becomes stronger.

  • You may be stuck in a rut or just wish to keep moving forward. Set your intent each morning before getting out of bed:
    • For my guides/angels/higher self to show me clearly what I need to do or learn today that is in accordance with my highest good
    • That I get the message today from my guides/angels easily
    • That I act on the message at the right time for me
    • That everything I do today is for my divine highest good
    • That today I come from unconditional love for self and others
    • That today I see the good and greatness in all people I meet

  • You wish to bring more wealth and abundance into to your life. At night and in the morning set your intent:
    • That I see opportunities for wealth around me today
    • That I spend my money wisely on things that I really need
    • That I bless all my bills and expenditure
    • That I am consciously aware of my spending habits
    • I allow myself to receive with ease, grace and harmony

Other intents that you can invoke are: (be clear and precise)
  • Physical exercise every day
  • Cleaning house or keeping it tidy
  • Changing thought patterns
  • Bringing in peace and harmony into your household
  • To communicate with others (be specific), to be understood and to listen
  • To listen to your angels/guides
  • To see the good in everybody you meet
  • To have special time for you and/or family
  • To do one good deed each day for others

Setting or invoking an intent is a lot like goal-setting. Intents are stronger and more powerful because you are making a clear, concise decision on taking action now. You are making an agreement with yourself and by setting the intent you are creating the scene around you to bring this intent into manifestation. Goal setting is coming from the Head – the analytical, thinking self. Setting an intent comes from both the Head and the Heart space bringing in a more powerful combination for manifesting what you want.

Remember when invoking or setting your intent:

  • Call in your Angel/Guides
  • Invoke for the highest good of self and/or all
  • Be specific
  • Say your intent three times taking three deep breaths with each repetition
  • Write down the intent so you can see it throughout the day
